2011 Ozone Chabre Open
A posse of North Devon club and friends from neighbouring South Devon HPG Club went to Laragne, France to compete in the annual fun Ozone Chabre Open. Chris Blanchard, Ant Moore and Dominique Lion from NDHPC, Tim Pilling & Bob Moore from SDHPG were joined by past Chairman of Thames Valley HPG- John Terry, and Tim's fellow Hong Kong born pilot Kevin Lee.
The weather varied from perfect to stormy afternoons to 24hr rain storms but we had a ball. Dominique, Tim and Kevin all got to Goal for the first time in their competition flying careers, and Bob Moore got darned close after the best XC flight of his life. Chris and Ant had scored one Goal flight and one near-miss each to end up well in the top of the Sport Class. Dominique won Best Rookie with his similar score, just ahead of Tim and Kevin.
